To be a scientific illustrator, one must maintain the utmost focus on observing the subject of interest. The paintings that we created remain in our memories for a long time.  Over the years, I have taught hundreds of students and have discovered that scientific drawing is a life-long learning.  Artists who are not scientists become experts in the subjects they have been drawing because they have to spend time with them for days, weeks or even months.  Some become birdwatchers or orchid lovers.  Those who do become professional scientific illustrators obviously appreciate nature and its beauty

     I believe that many people feel the same way as I do. Nature is so beautiful that it is important for us to do everything we can to protect them from being vanished.  Children who begin an artistic endeavor at an early age by drawing pictures of family pets or flowers in their gardens would develop an appreciation of nature.  They will grow to be a kind-hearted and nature lover.  It is these children we must rely upon to preserve our planet and its natural beauty for future generations of human beings to come.
